Two decades of memories on and off the ice – join us as the Madison Gay Hockey Association kicks off an unforgettable 20th anniversary season! Members, alumni, skaters, and volunteers are invited to sign up to support our 20th anniversary season events, or suggest and lead even more celebratory activities!
Thursday, October 15: Founding Day Social
- Details: 7:00 PM at Bear & Bottle
- Wear your favorite MGHA jersey to celebrate the exact date – 20 years ago! – when the Madison Gay Hockey Association first took to the ice.
Sunday, October 25th: Team Reveal Tailgate & Costume Night
Let’s tailgate our 20th year!
- Time: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (reveal is 7:45 PM)
- Theme: “The Haunting of Teams Past” to awaken previous team names.
- Bring: Old team photos, relics of years past, costumes, crafts/face paint, etc. etc.
- Food: MGHA will provide grillable food, vegetarian options, & cake.
- BYO: Bring your own beverages (alcohol for sale upstairs), sides, & fun condiments.
- Volunteer sign up to run the grill, DJ, set up, tear down, or bring something to share.
Saturday, February 13th – Pond Pick-Up Play Day @ Tenney Park
- Lace up for outdoor glory in the middle of (hopefully) a frozen lagoon with your favorite hockey folks. Non-MGHA players are most welcome.
- Volunteer sign up: to help to recruit, organize, or bring something to share.
Friday, February 19th – MGHA Classic Turnabout Fundraiser
- Our annual fundraiser for the Classic Tournament at FIVE Nightclub featuring our hockey players as amateur Drag Performers with support of local Professional Drag Performers.
- Hosted, as always by Bianca Lynn Breeze.
- Volunteer sign ups will come from event organizers.
Sunday, April 1st – Championship Night
- Always a joy to celebrate another end of season together with awards, the whole league photo, and a potluck!
- Volunteer sign up to help to set up, tear down, or bring something to share.
April 23rd – 25th: MGHA Classic Weekend / 20 Year Alumni Reunion Celebration
