1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the MGHA website and registration platform at madisongayhockey.org (“the Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Who May Use the Platform
The Platform is intended for:
- Current and prospective MGHA members.
- Players registering for the MGHA Classic tournament.
- Coaches, captains, and board members managing league operations.
You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Accounts & Responsibilities
Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must keep your profile information (including USA Hockey number, contact info, and emergency contact info) accurate and up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Reporting Issues
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact website@madisongayhockey.org immediately.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Platform only for its intended purposes. You may not:
- Attempt to access another member’s account or data.
- Use the Platform to harass, threaten, or harm other members.
- Use another member’s personal information (visible through the Platform) for any purpose outside of MGHA league activities.
- Share screenshots or exports of other members’ personal data without their consent.
5. League Participation & Conduct
Use of the Platform is connected to your participation in MGHA activities. MGHA’s broader Code of Conduct governs behavior at games, events, and in communications. Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or removal of Platform access.
6. Payments & Fees
League fees, tournament fees, and deposits are collected through the Platform via WooCommerce and PayPal.
You may also apply for financial aid for some or all of your fees.
7. Sub Desk
By registering as available for substitution, you acknowledge:
- Sub availability is not a guaranteed placement – it depends on the absences for that game.
- Please be available via text or email in the hour or two after the sub desk email goes out (noon).
- Your contact information will be shared with captains to facilitate subbing.
8. Profile Visibility
Certain profile information is visible to other users based on your privacy settings. You are responsible for reviewing and maintaining your privacy settings. Contact website@madisongayhockey.org if you have concerns about your data visibility.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform – including design, code, logos, and text – is owned by or licensed to MGHA. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without written permission.
Member-submitted content (such as profile photos) remains yours, but by uploading it you grant MGHA a non-exclusive license to display it on the Platform.
10. Termination & Suspension
MGHA reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Use.
- Violate MGHA’s Code of Conduct.
- Engage in behavior harmful to other members or the organization.
11. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is”. MGHA makes no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy of scheduling data, or uninterrupted access. We are a volunteer-run organization and cannot guarantee immediate response to technical issues.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MGHA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to data loss, missed registrations, or payment processing errors.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
