Score Box Lead Responsibilities:
- Train and support score box staff to perform their tasks (above)
- Help captains get a last-minute sub or communicate messages off-ice
- Help in an emergency: find someone to perform a concussion check, call player’s emergency contact, call an ambulance,
- handoff information, etc.
- If first game on the rink for the day, complete Opening Lead responsibilities below
- If last game on the rink for the day, complete Closing Lead responsibilities below
- Communicate any used/needed medical equipment to Hockey Operations
- Report all score box absences to Hockey Operations (hops@madisongayhockey.org)
OPENING SCORE BOX LEAD: If you’re the score box lead for the first game on any rink, please arrive a few minutes early to retrieve and deliver the puck bag with med kits and scoresheet binder for the rink you’re assigned from the MGHA box/cabinet
CLOSING SCORE BOX LEAD: After the last game on the rink, return puck bags, completed scoresheets, and any lost/found items to the MGHA box/cabinet. Also, if yours is the last game of the night, close and lock the box/cabinet.
MGHA BOX/CABINET LOCATIONS
- @Legacy20 Middleton – The MGHA storage box or “Orange box” is located below the Rink A bleachers, on the opposite side of the ice from the Zamboni room. It is behind a metal “door” with horizontal handles that needs to be lifted and moved off to the side. Please be sure to put the door back at the end of the night.
- @DeForest Yards – The MGHA storage cabinet is located below the bleachers near locker rooms 7 & 8. The cabinet is a tan industrial metal cabinet with a combination padlock.
