The mission of the MGHA scholarship is to encourage people to spend time discovering their individuality and how gay hockey contributes to it. Four brave essays were written by Bri Deyo, Tim Foster, Bazil Strong and Mark Sadowski. Click on each name to read their essay.

For the recipient, the reward for accepting the challenge is a trip to New York City to compete in the NYCGHA Chelsea Challenge, paid for by the MGHA.

After being equally as touched by the environment we've created as our players, MGHA fan and spectator Norman Tribbett has made an incredibly charitable donation in the interest of providing and rewarding every person who found the time and courage to write about what the MGHA means to them. Thanks to Norman, we will be sending Bri, Tim, Bazil and Mark all to New York to experience the tournament together!
