Fall 08-09 Recruiting Begins!

It's the middle of summer, and while the fall hockey season may seem far away, it's already time to start thinking about it.

New Players: Apply

We are currently taking applications for the 2008-09 season which begins in September. If you know someone interested in joining the MGHA, please tell them to submit a New Player Application. The Recruiting committee will contact them within seven days of submitting an application. If there are any questions about the MGHA or the recruiting process, please contact the MGHA Recruiting Committee.

Existing Players: Nominate

Current MGHA players: you have a firsthand understanding of the level of play, open-mindedness, and support provided in the league. As such, your feedback and assessment of new player candidates provide important information in the selection process. If you know someone interested in playing hockey with the MGHA, you can submit a New Player Nomination Form.

NOTE: You must be logged in to the website to get to the nomination form, otherwise you'll be automatically directed to the application form instead.

ACT 6 Ride Volunteers Needed

ACT 6 draws nearer and nearer. We are still looking for people who can help out as crew or day volunteers on any or all days from August 6 through August 10. If you have any free time on these days, please consider participating in this important event. If you aren't available to help out for the ACT Ride, recruit a friend to ACT!

ACT RIDE (http://www.actride.org/)

DAY VOLUNTEERS

ACT 6 is the sixth annual AIDS Network Cycles Together and is scheduled for Thursday, August 7 through Sunday, August 10. A four day bike ride throughout our 13 county service area, ACT raised nearly $300,000 for AIDS Network last year while raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. We are currently looking for volunteers and groups who can help out as day volunteers, providing help with camp services, food services, pit stops, registration, and at opening and closing ceremonies. If you are interested in making a difference, now is the time to ACT! Contact Mark for a day volunteer application today!

CREW

If one day of volunteering isn't enough, but four days of riding seems too much, why not consider becoming part of crew? Crew is the backbone of the ride, providing support to riders each day and night so that the ride can run smoothly. There are several types of crew: food, camp services, security, gear and tent, medical, chiropractic, massage, route marking, pit stops, lunch, sweep, and traffic control.

For more information and to register as a day volunteer or crew, please visit the ACT Ride website.
