Dear Auction Goers and Winning Bidders, Hockey Jocks, and Players, Fans and Friends,
If you were at the Shamrock on Saturday for the second annual MGHA Hockey Jock Auction, you know that it exceeded all expectations.
The Auction hit the ground running when a date with Bjorn Holtan of Team Mulan Rouge went for $1,200. The last date of the evening with Joe Weber of Team Nomad went for an astounding $1,500 after several MGHA players pooled money together. And in between, all players brought in substantial amounts -- much much more than we could have anticipated.
It was an embarrassment of riches, to say the least. With the money raised, we will definitely be able to keep league fees low and fund those who would otherwise not be able to participate in the MGHA.
We cannot thank enough those who made the Auction possible:
* The Shamrock Bar
* Gerry Haney, emcee extraordinaire
* The jocks who braved the auction block
* The players and fans who stepped up to donate big money to the league
In all the commotion during the night, we let the event get away from us. We apologize for that and want you to know that next year's fundraiser will be quite different. We already have several ideas for next year's event and are happy to forward them to you if you are interested.
Our most humble thanks and appreciation,
MGHA Board
