About the MGHA

The MGHA was started in 2006 by Patrick Farabaugh to provide Madison's LGBTQA community with the opportunity to come together to play and learn hockey in a safe and supportive environment. We're currently beginning our seventh season and going strong.

Games are played on Sunday evenings at Hartmeyer Ice Arena. For the 2012-13 season, games begin on October 21, 2012 and run through March 17, 2013 (no games on December 23, 2012). Game times are usually 5:10pm, 6:20pm, and 7:30pm. Go to Teams & Schedule or the calendar to see game times and teams playing. We love our fans, so please come out to watch us play...it's free!

In addition to our weekly hockey games held throughout the winter, MGHA players have played exhibition games against other midwestern gay hockey teams, volunteered at Madison's annual Pride festival, and hosted Blades Against AIDS, an open skate fundraiser for the AIDS Network.
