The MGHA has adopted the following game rules:

All games will be played under current USA Hockey Adult No-Check rules (pdf), with the following additions:

1. Slapshots: No slapshots are allowed. The note from rule 617(a) will be applied:

The rink
The rink is the area in which hockey in played. The ice surface is divided into three zone by the two blue lines: The neutral zone, and the two attacking/defending zones:

The players

MGHA rules require full hockey gear to play. You have several avenues available for acquiring gear if you are starting out. Gear costs vary depending on if you get new or used equipment.

All MGHA players will receive a 10% discount on all hockey gear & accessories from Middleton Sports & Fitness on University Ave, Suter's Gold Medal Sports on North Sherman Ave, and Spencer's Pro Shop in Hartmeyer Ice Arena. All you have to do is ask for the discount at the time of purchase. Note that sale items may not qualify for the additional discount.
